1. Responsible for administering the Council’s territory which are towns and surrounding areas gazetted under the Local Government Act 1976.
  2. Responsible in collecting annual revenues while striving to increase the total annual revenues through new sources.
  3. Establishing good relationships with all parties (clients, taxpayers and others) which are either directly or indirectly connected within the context of achieving the Council’s aims and objectives.
  4. Planning and implementing efficient and quality Municipal services to fulfil the needs of society towards establishing a tranquil environment.
  5. Responsible for administering the Council’s territory through the control of business and industrial activities besides establishing a conducive environment to attract more investments.
  6. Controlling, planning and approvals of the physical development in accordance to the requirements of the Structural and Local Plans.
  7. Planning and executing development within the territorial jurisdiction of the Council which focuses on development that preserves the environment as well as establishing a balanced and harmonious urban society.
