1. The Kulim Kedah Municipal Council (MPKK) must be notified in writing on the date of commencement of landscaping work, date of commencement of maintenance works and the expiration dates in order for Kulim Kedah Municipal Council (MPKK) to take over the landscape.
2. Proposed plants must conform to the requirements of the Kulim Kedah Municipal Council (MPKK) and must also be planted on suitable sites and planted during the completion of initial road and drain construction.
3. Open areas, centre for public facilities, kindergartens, hawkers and sites to be handed over to the Kulim Kedah Municipal Council (MPKK) or the State Government in accordance with the conditions of approval of the layout plan must be levelled, planted with 100% close turfing grass of the types required by the Council or cow grass free from love grass and mimosa. Turfs containing lalang grass, love grass and mimosa must be discarded (initial stages during planting), while lalang grass, love grass or mimosa that sprouts will be pulled out or charged to the employer involved.
4. Trees planted must be at the following sizes :
  • Shade trees with minimum height of 1.8 meters and a trunk diameter of 2.5 cm measured 1.0 meters from the crown of the tree.
  • Shrubs / flowering herbaceous plants with a height of 300mm-600mm.
5. Beautification of the following site :
  • Open spaces
  • Centre for public facilities
  • Kindergartens
  • Hawker centres
  • Car parking places
  • Please note locations not mentioned here
6. Supply and installation of electric poles and lights in open spaces.
7. Surau sites to be submitted to the State Religious Council in accordance with the Layout Plan Approval Conditions must be levelled, planted with 'close turfing' grass. Turf grass required by the Council or cow grass free from love grass and mimosa. Surau sites must be enclosed by chain link fencing at least 4 feet tall with entrances and surrounded with concrete ditches.
8. Open spaces developed must be landscaped and equipped with public facilities such as terrazzo benches, slides, see-saws, swings, monkey bars, public lightings, garbage bins and equipments deemed necessary by Kulim Kedah Municipal Council (MPKK).
9. Types of minimum playground equipments required in an open area are as follows:
  All plans must comply with the Kulim Kedah Municipal Council (MPKK) standard plans.
  • 1 slide
  • 1 swing set
  • 2 see-saws
  • 6 rest benches covered with terrazzo
  • 6 waste bins
10. All open spaces equipped with public facilities must be provided and fitted with electric poles and lights. Sample plans and types of lighting for the site must be attached as well.
11. Trees planted on tarred roads or premixed road kerbs must be completely surrounded with concrete curb in the form of rectangular box shaped retaining wall measuring 3 feet x 3 feet square.
12. The trees must be supported with scaffoldings / stakes measuring 2 inch x 1 inch x 5 feet high from the ground.
13. Other requirements from time to time as required by the Council.
14. Developers must maintain landscaping works for at least 12 months from the date of the issuance of the Certificate of Fitness for Occupation (O.C) by Kulim Kedah Municipal Council. If the Certificate of Fitness for Occupation (O.C) has been obtained, the maintenance work must commence from the date the planting works are done.
15. Developers / applicants must ensure the maintenance works carried out are in accordance with Scope of Work / Specifications attached with the Landscape Plan Approval. The Council will perform site visits from time to time until the final one (1) month prior to the expiry of maintenance to ensure there are no problems when the Council takes over later.
